Wildcat Innovation in Media Campaign

Newsroom

As you discovered while working here, the Daily Wildcat is a vibrant, living media lab with students learning and applying new skills while delivering a daily newspaper both in print and digitally. Together we’ve accomplished much, with national awards to prove it, and with successful alumni whose careers took off from our launching pad.

DeadlineBut a disruptive transformation is well underway. Mobile web, apps, video and social media are overtaking print and, to some extent, even websites. Current and future Wildcat staffers need to not only manage this transformation but to master it.

To do so, they need training, tools, and an enhanced environment that lets them experiment, learn and apply new forms of content creation and delivery so when they graduate they’ll carry the best experience, skills, and smarts that can take them into meaningful careers.

To make this happen, we have established Daily Wildcat Innovation in Media campaign. Thank you to all our donors!!

Chris Oldre, a Daily Wildcat sales rep ’89-’92 and now a senior vice president at Disney, has taken up the challenge to lead this campaign and help us meet our goal. Chris writes:

george.et.alI was blessed and fortunate enough to spend 3 years with George Morley and the Daily Wildcat.  I attribute much of my personal and professional success to the lessons I learned from George, the responsibilities given to me, the opportunities and tools to succeed.

It is my honor to help lead this effort to raise $250,000 over the next three years (’14-’17) in honor of George and in support of The Arizona Daily Wildcat.

With your assistance – we can achieve and surpass this goal. BEAR DOWN                                                                                                                  Chris Oldre
